FIRE MITIGATION:

In the event of a fire in your home, the first thing to know is that time is of the essence, making early intervention a critical component of the fire mitigation process.  Although active flames are extinguished, unseen damage may still be in progress.  Chemical reactions from the burning of synthetic materials could continue to cause damage in your home.  Within a matter of days, items that could be salvaged by our team may become permanently damaged. Soot from a fire quickly absorbs into all materials inside and can be extremely tough to remove without the proper equipment. When firefighters arrive to put out an active fire, an extensive amount of water is used both on the interior and exterior of a structure. Without the proper equipment and response time from a professional, mold and mildew damage is very likely.

WATER MITIGATION:lready have water damage? No matter the cause, we are here to restore your property back to its pre-disaster state. We remove standing water from all affected areas, as well as sort and dispose of all unsalvageable items all while working quickly to dry and clean your property using commercial grade air scrubbers and dehumidifiers. The best way to avoid any further damage to the structure, personal items and mold buildup is to give our mitigation team a call ASAP after a disaster occurs!

  Outside of your home:

  • Clear out your gutters and drains so water can flow freely. Standing water can cause structural damage and puddles can compromise your foundation.
  • Be sure your downspouts point away from your home and foundation.
  • Maintain your trees and vegetation by removing old and dying branches or trees that may blow over during high winds.
  • During cold weather months - disconnect all garden hoses and cover spigots, encapsulate your crawl space to regulate temperatures around plumbing under your home, and have your doors and windows sealed to ensure no water or cold air is flowing into your home.

  Inside of your home:

  • Maintain your appliances!  Did you know the average lifespan of a refrigerator or washer hose is 5 years?  Be sure to have them inspected! Appliances are one of the most common causes of water damage in the home.
  • Know where your water main shut off is located!  If you are leaving your property for an extended time, we recommend locating your water shut-off valve and turning it off for the duration of your leave.
  • Monitor your water bill.  Sometimes the only way to know there is a leak is by a sudden jump in your utility bill. There are gauges you can purchase and install that monitor your water usage, and alert you if there is a spike in usage that may be caused by a leak.
